About Us

On April 11, 2006, Justin Brown chose to end his life at the tender age of 14. In April of 2007, the Justin Brown Memorial Foundation was founded to focus on the Awareness and Prevention of Teenage Suicide.

Shortly after the death of Justin, God brought another 14-year-old boy, who was threatening suicide, into my life. Walking through this journey, with him and several others in similar situations, has made me aware of the lack of services for teenagers with emotional problems. I have created the foundation to honor the life of Justin, but more importantly to assist other teens in crisis. One of the ways I will be doing this is to support financially “Surviving the Teens”. This program has made me painfully aware of the statistics. The fact that 1 in 10 teenagers attempt suicide is alarming. My initial goal is to focus on the awareness of this statistic. I am hoping as people become aware, they will get involved in being a part of the solution. As I look back, I can see clear signs of the depths of Justin’s depression. My goal is to help others learn the warning signs, so they can take them seriously.
